Hi! I’m Rosie!
Heres a little about me!
°˖✧✿✧˖°
Ever since I could remember, I’ve been obsessed with all things theatre. This love was further ignited by frequent trips my family and I would take from Connecticut to New York to see broadway shows. Nothing this side of heaven beats the feeling in your heart when an entire crowd quiets to a hush, the house lights dim and you are plunged into another dimension.
I’ve been chasing that feeling for the majority of my life in many different ways- as a teenager, I worked at TheatreWorks in Hartford. I loved being sent to run lines with actors during the day and ushering at night- getting to know the full ins and outs of a real, professional theatre. I later went on to attend The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. My passion grew for theatre even more- but I found that I was being more and more drawn to the portions of class where we were to do scene writing, and to make up character back stories. Shortly after I graduated, the pandemic hit, and the theatre world was at a standstill. I decided to start writing plays, and fell completly and madly in love with it. Since then I’ve graduated from having “Zoom plays” to having shows in festivals like NY Summerfest, The Chain Theatre festival, and upcoming 1st Irish Festival 2025.
I would describe myself as the type of artist who recharges and unwinds through writing. No matter how bad a day I am always comforted by the fact that my laptop is waiting for me at home, ready to create another dimension. Besides being passionate about the writing bit, I have found that one of my favorite parts of writing plays is creating a loving community, one that feels like family. I make an effort to advocate for my actors needs, and to collaborate with kind people to make that rehearsal room a happy room.
